Curriculum
We had an amazing day at Manchester Art Gallery to explore this further. We looked at artwork inspired by the stories of the Ancient Gods and Goddesses as we heard about the birth of the gods and the story of Pandora’s box.We then spent the afternoon exploring ‘friezes’ which were architectural decorations that were used to decorate temples and wealthy homes. We explored the Greek inspired gallery looking for design ideas to sketch. We then worked with a lovely artist Sam, who showed us how to turn these sketches into our own friezes.
